Wadden Sea Adventures
As part of a tough seasonal job in a hotel resort’s gastronomic facility, I spent four weeks on the North Frisian island of Amrum in Germany. A vast expanse of dunes and Europe’s largest sand beach cover the west of Amrum, whilst the landscape in the east is dominated by fields that border the ever-changing Wadden Sea coastline and offer suitable breeding grounds for a variety of bird species (like the oystercatcher).
